✦ Life as a Wayfinder ✦

A Day in the Life of a
Wayfinder

From client messages and research days to training trips and supplier events, here’s what life as a Wand & Compass advisor can actually look like.

✦ Behind the Scenes ✦

The Work Behind the Magic

The vacation photos are the finished product. Behind them are conversations, research, problem solving, planning, and relationships. A Wayfinder may be a researcher one minute, a problem solver the next, and a client’s biggest cheerleader all the way through.

The bookings matter. The relationships are what make the work meaningful.

✦ Behind the Itinerary ✦

What a Wayfinder day can look like.

No two days look exactly alike. Your schedule is yours to build, but most days move between clients, research, learning, follow up, and the occasional notification that makes you immediately want to pack a suitcase.

Morning

Start with what needs your attention.

Check client messages, follow up on quotes, review supplier updates, and make sure upcoming trips, payments, and deadlines are on track.

Midday

Turn vacation ideas into actual plans.

Compare resorts, cruise itineraries, room categories, tickets, dining, transportation, and all the little details clients may never realize happened behind the scenes.

Afternoon

Keep the details moving.

Follow up with clients, manage bookings, make updates, handle deadlines, and squeeze in destination or supplier training when you can.

Evening, Sometimes

Meet clients where their lives are.

Some conversations happen after traditional work hours when families are finally home. Other days, your laptop may be closed before dinner.

BEHIND THE TRAINING

See what learning actually looks like.

Wayfinder Travel Academy isn’t just a list of supplier courses. Advisors work through practical training designed around the work they’ll actually do with clients.

Learning with Disney

Learn the process. Practice the work. Ask questions when you need them.

The Really Good Days

Sometimes the office looks a little different.

Disney days. Ship inspections. Resort tours. Training trips. Conferences. Supplier events. Team dinners. Firsthand research is part of learning the vacations we recommend, and occasionally work looks suspiciously like a very good vacation.

The flexibility is real. So is the responsibility. The goal is to build a business that works with your life while giving your clients the attention they deserve.

✦ The Honest Picture ✦

The freedom is real. So is the work.

— What You’ll Love

  • A flexible business you can build around your life
  • Learning Disney Destinations, Universal, cruises, and more
  • Helping families turn vacation ideas into actual memories
  • Growing your knowledge, confidence, and client relationships over time
  • Having a team to celebrate the wins and help when things get complicated

— What to Know Going In

  • Income is commission based and grows as your business grows
  • Flexibility still requires follow through and great client care
  • Building a client base takes time, consistency, and real effort
  • Some client conversations happen outside traditional work hours
  • You’re building your own business, but you are not building it alone
A little bit of magic. A lot of heart. And yes, some spreadsheets too.
