A celebration cruise should feel like a trip the two of you would choose even without the occasion. For some couples, that means a leisurely dinner and a sea day with nowhere to be. For others, it means exploring a new city together and returning to a comfortable room.
Celebrity is worth considering when dining, contemporary surroundings, and time together matter more than thrill attractions. It welcomes families, so choose it for its style rather than expecting an adults-only vacation.
Start with the Kind of Celebration You Want
These are starting points for a shortlist, not a ranking that makes the itinerary irrelevant. Compare actual departures, available rooms, and the cost of reaching the ship.
| What you want | Where to start | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| A contemporary setting for an anniversary or honeymoon | Celebrity Beyond or Celebrity Ascent | Route, room, social spaces, and whether a particular restaurant matters to you. |
| Different venues to explore together | Celebrity Xcel | The Bazaar, Bora, and the Pool Club alongside the full itinerary and fare. |
| A more traditional Celebrity experience | Celebrity Reflection | The Lawn Club, dining, available veranda rooms, and the exact sailing price. |
| A celebration centered on wildlife and exploration | Celebrity Flora in the Galápagos | The guided experience, activity demands, travel logistics, and complete package. |
A newer ship can be worth paying for when its spaces are part of the reason you are going. An older ship is not automatically cheaper, quieter, or a compromise. Dates and room availability can change the comparison considerably.
Choose the Destination and Pace Together
Before discussing suites, ask each traveler to describe a good day. A couple who wants beaches and relaxed mornings may make different choices from one who wants museums, walking tours, and long lunches ashore.
For a Caribbean escape, compare the balance of ports and sea days. For Europe, look closely at port hours and the travel involved in reaching the places you want to visit. For Alaska, choose the scenery and excursions before making the ship the deciding factor.
Flora deserves a separate conversation. Celebrity describes it as an all-suite, 100-guest ship designed for the Galápagos, with certified naturalists guiding the experience. Consider it because exploring the islands together is the dream. It is a different kind of celebration from a week built around pool time and late dinners.
Choose a Room That Improves Your Stay
A veranda can be a lovely place for a slow morning. On Edge Series ships, check whether the category has an Infinite Veranda or a conventional outdoor balcony. An Infinite Veranda incorporates the window-side area into the room; it should not be assumed to offer the same separation as a balcony beyond an exterior door.
Think about different sleeping schedules, how much private outdoor time you want, and where the room sits relative to the places you will use. Look at the floor plan and any view restriction before treating two veranda categories as equivalent.
AquaClass adds dining at Blu and thermal-area access: the SEA Thermal Suite on Edge Series ships or Persian Garden on Millennium and Solstice Series ships. Compare those benefits with how you actually spend a sea day. Spa treatments are a separate purchase, not an automatic part of thermal access.
The Retreat is a larger commitment. Compare the exact suite, dedicated dining and lounge access, and the ship’s available Retreat facilities. Private spaces and service can be meaningful on a milestone trip, but a busy itinerary may leave you less time to enjoy them.
Plan the Moments That Matter Most
We suggest choosing two or three priorities before adding packages. That might be a restaurant you both want to try, a shore experience connected to a shared interest, and an afternoon left entirely open.
- Dinner: Read the menu and current charge before reserving. An included meal can be the right celebration dinner, too.
- Time ashore: Choose an experience at a pace you both enjoy, with enough time to return comfortably.
- A personal detail: Ask about available gifts or arrangements and confirm the delivery date rather than assuming the occasion will be recognized automatically.
- A group gathering: Coordinate reservations early, but leave room for guests with different budgets and interests.
Celebrity’s current FAQ says it does not facilitate weddings or vow renewals onboard or in the destinations it visits. It does offer an avenue to arrange onboard cocktail parties through its Group Specialists. If a ceremony is essential, resolve that requirement before choosing a sailing; an anniversary cruise and a ceremony package are different plans.
Compare the Complete Celebration Budget
Price the room, flights, hotel, transfers, onboard gratuities, excursions, and any dining, drinks, internet, or spa purchases you actually want. Give the celebration priorities their own allowance so a room upgrade does not consume the money intended for the experiences.
Celebrity’s current All Included option combines a Classic Drink Package and Basic Wi-Fi on eligible bookings. Beverage-package gratuities are included, but onboard staff gratuities are charged separately under the current terms. Galápagos products and suite inclusions need their own comparison.
Ask for a quote with and without optional packages. Convenience can be worth paying for, but a bundle is most useful when its benefits match your habits.
Our Recommendation
For a first Celebrity celebration, compare Beyond or Ascent with the sailing that offers the strongest route and room for your budget. Add Xcel when its different venues interest you, or Reflection when its setting and itinerary fit better. Keep Flora for a destination-led Galápagos conversation.
Tell your Wayfinder what you are celebrating and what you want the week to feel like. We can help shape a trip with the right amount of occasion, without filling every day with something extra to purchase.
